“Behaviour change in 160 characters:developing a mobile phone intervention to reduce binge drinking among disadvantaged men”

Presenter: Professor Iain K Crombie, University of Dundee, School of Medicine

Date:    Wednesday 7 November 2012

Time:   15.30

Venue: Level 5 Seminar Room, Sir Alwyn Williams Building, School of Computing Science, 18 Lilybank Gardens, Glasgow, G12 8RZ

Abstract:

Disadvantaged men are at a greatly increased risk of experiencing alcohol-related harms. Given the scale of the problem there is a need for a low cost intervention which can be delivered to large numbers of men. This lecture will describe the development and initial testing of a brief alcohol intervention delivered by text messages.
